  • Edward “Eddie” Lee Jones, 66, of Mount Ida, AR passed away September 17, 2018, in Mount Ida surrounded by his family.  He was born May 26, 1952 in Mount Ida, AR to Claude Halbert Jones of Mauldin and Alta Maxine (Rice) Jones of Norman. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, sisters Barbara Josephine Fryar of San Diego, California and Nell Katherine Bullock of Visalia, California.

     

    Eddie was in the US Army, a truck driver and equipment operator and 10 years as manager of the Montgomery County Solid Waste before retiring. His favorite things were good friends, good dogs, good food, and good times. He loved spending time with all his family and friends and he had a lot of both.

     

    Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Daphna (Standerfer) Jones, siblings Alice Gayle  (Noah) Williamson of Mount Ida, Shirley Ann Rogers of Hot Springs, AR, Jonnie Claudette (Claude) Irvan of Mount Ida, AR,  Claude Halbert Jones Jr. of Mount Ida, AR,  Samuel David (Carolyn) Jones of Mount Ida, AR, Charles Wayne Jones of Mount Ida, AR, Nancy Carolyn (Glen) Cogburn of Visalia, California, Billy Neal (Evelyn) Jones of Mount Ida, AR, Jackie Phillip Jones of Mount Ida, AR, Marion Colleen (Ricky) Mitchell of Hot Springs, AR,  Paula Jean (Jim) Noga Hanford, California, Janice Inez (Danny) Richey of Mena, AR and Kenneth Bryan Jones of Phoenix, Arizona, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

     

    Service will be held at Lake Ouachita Baptist Church Gym on September 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother George Lynch of First Baptist Church of Royal and Brother Ty Huitt of Lake Ouachita Baptist Church officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Elder, Chris Elder, Ronnie Young, Jack Jones, Bill Jones, Charlie Jones, Niris Gaston, Johnny Moore, Brandon Jackson, Jimmy Jones, David Ledbetter, his brothers, his nephews and the Montgomery County Nursing Home Administration and Staff, especially the Nurses and CNAs on the 300 Hall.
